ABSTRACT
Background: The aim of this trial was to compare the efficacy real-time and intermittently-scanned continuous glucose monitoring (rtCGM isCGM, respectively) in maintaining optimal glycemic control.
Methods: In randomized study, adults with T1D normal hypoglycemia awareness (GOLD score <4) used rtCGM (Guardian Connect Mobile) or isCGM (Freestyle Libre) during 4 days physical activity (exercise phase) subsequent weeks at home (home phase). Primary endpoints were time hypoglycemia (<3.9 mmol/l [<70 mg/dl]) range (3.9-10.0 [70-180 mg/dl]). group wore an additional masked Enlite sensor (iPro2) for 6 check bias between different sensors by systems.

Results: Sixty (mean age 38±13 years, A1C 62±12 mmol/mol [7.8±1.1%]) (n=30) (n=30). All participants completed study. Percentage mg/dl)) lower among vs. exercise phase (6.8±5.5% 11.4±8.6%, respectively; p=0.018) (5.3±2.5% 7.3±4.4%, p=0.035). Hypoglycemia differences significant most notable night. spent more (3.9-10 than throughout both (78.5±10.2% 69.7±16%, p=0.0149) (75.6±9.7% 67.4±17.8%, p=0.0339) phases. results robust insignificant that CGM found arm.

Conclusion: superior reducing improving awareness, demonstrating value alarms daily diabetes self-management.
