Instructional Media for Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Children: A Study on Need Analysis

ABSTRACT
ASD children exhibit social functioning issues that indicate difficulty communicating with others and often do not understand why they have to interactions other people. One way of helping them is develop media based on their needs. This research aimed analyze the specifications required. The study designed as a mixed-methods study. data were collected using questionnaire in form survey combined interviews. respondents consisted 24 from Malaysia, Netherlands, Canada, Indonesia, include teachers inclusive schools. selection sample used purposive sampling techniques ensure had background knowledge either education, linguistics, or special education willing be included research. analyzed qualitatively quantitatively. results show essential are: should language supports learning; developed able establish purpose; provide learning support; different variations meaningful consider various factors can affect ability access benefit forms media; for assessing students' progress achievement; functions. These are basis developing needs students ASD.
