The rising burden of dementia is a global concern, and there need to study its causes, natural history outcomes. Secure Anonymised Information Linkage (SAIL) Databank contains anonymised, routinely-collected healthcare data for the population Wales, UK. It has potential be valuable resource research owing size, long follow-up time prospective collection during clinical care.We aimed apply reproducible methods create SAIL e-cohort (SAIL-DeC). Of these, 129,650 (10%) developed dementia, 77,978 (60%) having subtype codes. Alzheimer's disease was most common diagnosis (62%). Among cases, median duration observation 14 years.We have generalisable, national e-cohort, at facilitating epidemiological research.
