ABSTRACT
This study presents a novel technique to improve axial ratio (AR) of wide-angle scanning phased array. can be applied arrays reconfigurable dual-polarized circular patch antennas: each antenna element has two feeding channels, with separate variable gain amplifier and phase shifter for channel. In the proposed technique, compensation weights, excitation amplitudes phases AR are controlled based on closedform design formula. The formula is obtained by approximately formulating an active pattern Calculation conditions effectiveness have been evaluated simulation 41-element simulation, worst in designated coverage range ±70° was improved from 5.8 dB 2.0 technique. We experimentally tested using 1024-element measured 1.9 at 70° scan
