Distance education during social isolation: an evaluation of student attitudes and perceptions using the web-based learning environment instrument (WEBLEI)

ABSTRACT
Objectives: Until recently, distance education at universities has supplemented face-to-face in blended programs that combine the two. But during COVID-19 pandemic spring of 2019–2020 academic year, many were forced to conduct exclusively. The aim this study is determine perceptions, thoughts, and experiences university students regarding completely online process period. Methods: In process, all theoretical lessons exams conducted on advance learning management system (ALMS) for İstinye University. present used original form WEBLEI survey 324 from medicine, pharmacy health science departments Results: measures students’ perceptions using four scales: access, interaction, response results. Though did not experience problems accessing or interacting with their teachers other students, they find alone more effective satisfying than combined education. Conclusion: This contributes a better understanding pros cons by evaluating attitudes students.
