ABSTRACT
This paper presents an analysis of non-metallic inclusions occurring in high-silicon steels containing about 3% Si terms their type, volume fraction and morphology. The were divided into 3 main groups: oxides, sulfides, nitrides which together can also form complex. work was based on numerous metallographic observations two sections (longitudinal transverse to the rolling direction). study performed three casts differing chemical composition. analyzed characterized by a different content inclusions, be associated with slight differences results showed that most common oxides nitrides. Sulfides occurred sporadically.
