ABSTRACT
Infectious bronchitis (IB) is an important disease that causes severe economic loses in the poultry industry worldwide. Furthermore, spread of new variants poses a challenge for diagnosis and control disease. This study investigated situation infectious virus (IBV), specifically Israel variant-2 (IS var-2) also known as GI-23 genotype, Turkey. Between 2014 2019, 214 flocks vaccinated against H120 from Marmara, Western Black Sea, Inner Anatolia were examined, with 127 (59.3%) testing positive IBV, which 92 (72.4%) IS var-2. Of latter samples, 60 randomly selected subjected to full S1 gene sequencing. The analysis indicated field strain Turkey was located on same branch one most frequently observed wild-type cluster found Middle East. DNA similarities between isolates 2019 99%. In conclusion, var-2 genotype has been circulating broiler It recommended establishing vaccine strategy it should be considered current strains prevention among poultry.
