ABSTRACT
Abstract Background/aim : Acetaminophen is frequently used as an analgesic during pregnancy. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate effects acetaminophen administered pregnant mice on fetal brain, attention, memory, and learning functions in postnatal period, genetic mechanisms these mice. Materials methods designed with two different groups. first group consisted that were injected acetaminophen, while second comprised saline. 1 st , 2 nd 3 rd days pregnancy, one subcutaneously 100 mg/kg other mouse 0.9% On 21 day after birth, five female male randomly selected for experimental control Behavioral tests performed at months age. In addition, changes transcript levels 93 genes evaluated by Real-Time PCR hippocampus. Results showed more interest new object than (p=0.002). marble burying test, greater activity observed (p=0.0345). No significant difference between groups social interaction tail suspension tests. GABRG3 GRM3 PICK1 CEBPB EGR4 mRNA expression increased (0.0317, 0.0159, 0.0069, 0.0457, 0.015, p value respectively). Conclusions Prenatal exposure affected both behavioral levels. Therefore, potential prenatal should be carefully investigated.
