ABSTRACT
Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of sleep disturbance among patients with CVD treated at King Abdulaziz Cardiac Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Methods: cross-sectional survey was conducted from January 28 April 26, 2018. Participants were selected using nonrandomized convenience sampling technique. Data gathered questionnaires distributed participants waiting area before attending clinic. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) used measure quality. Additionally, Berlin Questionnaire (BQ) stratify population into (high/low) risk for obstructive apnea (OSA). Results: included 373 participants, 195 men (52.3%) and 178 women (47.1%). Most (63%) aged 51 70 years. Two hundred forty-two (64.9%) had diabetes, while 62 (16.6%) insomnia. (47.7%) suffered myocardial infarction, 57 (15.3%) arrhythmia. Majority (n=223, 59.8%) poor-quality sleep, according PSQI class. Conclusion: sleep. Inadequate duration appears be a significant factor cardiovascular morbidity mortality. deprivation cause harmful, long-term, systemic changes that could eventually predispose patient CVD.
