ABSTRACT
SYNOPSIS: This position statement, stemming from the International IFOMPT (International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists) Cervical Framework, was developed based upon best contemporary evidence and expert opinion to assist clinicians during their clinical reasoning process when considering presentations involving head neck. Developed through rigorous consensus methods, Framework guides assessment cervical spine region for potential vascular pathologies neck in advance planned interventions. Within spine, events are rare but an important consideration as part patient examination. Vascular may be recognizable if appropriate questions asked history-taking process, interpretation elicited data enables recognition this potential, physical examination can adapted explore any vasculogenic hypothesis.
