ABSTRACT
This study examines the relationship between climate and species richness distribution of palms (Arecaceae) in Brazilian State Santa Catarina. We use data from Floristic Forest Inventory Catarina WorldClim - Global Climate Data. hypothesized that low temperature precipitation limit palm For modeling richness, we used a generalized linear model for zero inflated to assess reasons behind differences abundance across state, canonical analysis principal coordinates (CAP). found only Euterpe edulis Mart. Syagrus romanzoffiana (Cham.) Glassman showed significant effects climate, largely because they were most abundant frequent sampled plots. Modelling results pinpointed minimum coldest month as strongest predictor Our contribute knowledge about occurrence native Atlantic their environmental limitations.https://doi.org/10.25260/EA.19.29.1.0.737
