ABSTRACT
In recent decades the use of orthodontic appliances in Poland has increased; however, data on their influence changes components microbiome connected with oral biofilm are scarce. The objective this study was to evaluate microbiota terms role as risk factors for health complications. The included 100 patients treated removable or fixed appliances. Oral hygiene and gingival were determined, periodontal swabs taken from each patient parasitological, bacteriological mycological microscopic vitro examinations.Oral protists various pathogenic opportunistic bacterial fungal strains identified superficial layer biofilm. A higher prevalence bacteria, Enterococcus faecalis, E. faecium, Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli, yeast-like fungi Candida albicans group, occurred appliance than those using a not orthodontically. some samples appliances, cysts Acanthamoeba spp. found. The alters status cavity; it impact colonization by opportunistic/pathogenic strains, increases dissemination human tissues organs. Pretreatment examination microbiome, its monitoring particularly during treatment preventive elimination potentially avoid complications, highly recommended, especially impaired immunity.
