ABSTRACT
The effects of indol-3-acetic acid (IAA) were investigated on biological parameters Galleria mellonella (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) and its endoparasitoid Pimpla turionellae (Linnaeus (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) reared hosts treated with 50 to 10,000 ppm IAA in their diet. Percent fecundity first generation G. females increased by 12% at whereas the most effective decrease, >33%, was observed 5,000 ppm. fertility decreased >20% 1,000 All treatments displayed ±5% variations when compared controls except for a increase corrected percent sterility results did not reveal any considerable effect egg hatching, larval pupal developmental, or adult emergence times. striking decline second developmental time >47% No dose-wise alterations longevity, weight, size female sex ratio mellonella. Treatment caused slight prolongation decrease longevity P. hosts; wasps declined >27% higher doses. Neither wasp nor weight significant changes upon treatment.
