ABSTRACT
Herein a systematic study of two-step solid-phase synthesis CdS@ZnS nanocomposites and their photocatalytic activity is presented. First, CdS nanoparticles were synthesized in planetary ball mill through solid-state ion exchange reaction. In the second step, Cd2+ ions partially replaced by Zn2+ at surface using solvent free long-term activation high-energy mill. The optimal time was determined to be 45 min. Spherical with diameter 10 nm modified (45 min) characterized X-ray diffraction analysis, Raman UV-vis spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy. ability for water purification tested on degradation model organic dye Orange II an aqueous solution under visible light irradation. showed higher compared original nanoparticles.
