ABSTRACT
This article analyzes the structure of settlement in land Santibáñez el Alto between 1450 and 1750 order to address problem rural depopulation. References testimonies from fiscal procedural sources travel costs analysis, shows that peasant community developed a which complemented network settlements optimized time work peasantry since 1450, for being closer exploitation areas. system begins its decline second half 16th century, when policies implemented Crown (sale towns) those local oligarchy (limitations on access goods services) had negative impact inhabitants. Finally, it is stated evolution has been closely linked possibilities participation management identity-making.
