ABSTRACT
The paper presents results from an experimental program implemented for three representative buildings in Bucharest metropolitan area and aimed to explore the potential of various dynamic identification methods providing information about building state changes. objective is establish reference values use rapid earthquake damage detection systems. Each selected was designed according a different seismic code, force at time its construction. employed this study were: analysis Fourier spectra, transfer function random decrement technique. To validate results, fundamental periods vibration determined experimentally were compared with corresponding predicted by empirical formulas specified editions Romanian code. revealed consistent both period damping ratio buildings. However, small variations two parameters identified, depending on recordings performed, noise sources levels occupancy. terms validated data characteristics stock assessment performance, add up pool needed development countrywide pre- post-earthquake assisted decision tools.
