ABSTRACT
Although anti-thymocyte globulin with cyclosporine (rATG/CsA), bone marrow transplantation, and eltrombopag are the cornerstone treatment for severe very aplastic anemia (SAA/vSAA), oxymetholone remains beneficial in ineligible patients. This study was conducted to compare realistic effectiveness of rATG/CsA SAA/vSAA.The primary outcome 2-year overall response rate (ORR).Factors associated ORR were evaluated using a logistic model. The secondary outcomes 3-, 6-, 12-and 18-month survival (OS).Kaplan-Meier estimates calculated OS risk factors related PFS assessed Cox proportional hazards models.A total 47 eligible patients 53 periods included. The significantly higher than (46.7 vs. 15.8%,p=0.025).With median follow-up time 20.4 months, among initially treated 78.6% 28. 5% , respectively ( p= 0. 001) .However, responding had longer compared having no as front-line (11.8 years 2. 9 years, respectively) although statistically significant difference between two groups undetected (p=0.092).Severity disease predictors mortality from AA.This revealed superiority rATG/ CsA improvement. However, patient' s situation, needing start treatment, oxymetholone, still improved responders.Patients unresponsive within 3 months should be switched throughout treatment.
