ABSTRACT
Water scarcity is a major issue in the Kathmandu Valley. Also, from health perspective, it important to evaluate relationship between quantity and quality of available water. In this study, we identified water source used, its availability at point use. This was done by conducting questionnaire survey measuring level indicator bacteria free residual chlorine domestic sampled households. The results showed that most households used mixed sources, with piped being preferred for consumption. Nonparametric statistical tests total coliform significantly high longer supply interval also stored addition, but not significance, Escherichia coli mostly detected contrast, proportion samples lower interval. Partial correlations cleaning storage vessels associated might lead contamination Therefore, safe should be promoted household level, services improved regional scale.
