ABSTRACT
The 2006 National Academy of Sciences Biologic Effects Ionizing Radiation (BEIR) VII report is a well-recognized and frequently cited source on the legitimacy linear no-threshold (LNT) model-a model entailing causal relationship between ionizing radiation human cancer risk. Linearity means that all causes explicitly excludes threshold below which radiogenic risk disappears. However, BEIR committee has erred in interpretation its selected literature; specifically, vitro data quoted fail to support LNT. Moreover, cannot be considered as definitive proof development intact organisms. This review presented stimulate critical reevaluation by VIII reassess validity, use, LNT derived policies.
