ABSTRACT
Background/Objectives: Aged people with obesity are vulnerable to coagulation disorders arising from alterations in procaogulants. Therefore, this study aims evaluate the effect of age on procaogulant such as: fibrinogen (FG), von willebrand factor (vWF), Soluble Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecules (sVCAM) tissue (TF), Tissue Plasminogen Activator (tPA) and Inhibitor (PAI) obese people. Materials Method: 312 subjects between 18 65years were enrolled for comprising 111males 201females who further grouped into ranges 20-39years, 40-49years 50-59years respectively. 4.5mls venous blood was collected Ethylene Diamine Tetra-acetic Acid (EDTA) container. Plasma obtained analyzed using ELISA method. Results: FG values within range 20-29years 100.59±209.23ng/ml while level were71.14±64.24ng/ml 41.83±15.63ng/ml respectively at p<0.05. PAI those 20-39years 411.65±349.88pg/ml 265.92±64.30pg/ml. sVCAM 8.24±12.61u/l had value 4.42±1.17u/l. TF 82.03±54.21pg/ml 74.54±20.05pg/ml P<0.05. vWF 84.88±58.96u/l younger 74.59±55.32u/l Conclusion: Procaogulants FG, PAI, higher than older Sapele southern Nigeria.
