ABSTRACT
For several species such as fish, during the reproductive period, hematological variations may occur. Related to this, objective of this study was evaluate variables males and females cachara ( Pseudoplatystoma reticulatum) their period in fish farming. During six months, animals (n =17) were submitted blood collections once a month, by puncture caudal vessel for determination hemoglobin, hematocrit, erythrocyte counts, differential counting defense cells. The experimental design used entirely random, considering source variation sex factor. P. reticulatum had significantly higher mean values hemoglobin immature leukocytes compared males, however, neutrophils than females. influence characteristics, with possible differences dependent response.
