Building Resilience to Public Safety Power Shutoffs Through Public Education

ABSTRACT
Public Safety Power Shutoff events are being implemented in California to reduce wildfire impacts. We surveyed residents identify their information needs and understand the potential role of University Cooperative Extension (UCCE) power shutoff management. A majority respondents need on alternative sources community systems. Most indicated family, friends, neighbors as important group manage shutoff. UCCE was least used preferred source for information. Our findings reveal a play an management educating public.
