ABSTRACT
The genus Vigna comprises very ancient pulse crops originating from Africa and Asia. complex history domestication of this are just being unraveled by help genome sequence information. Here, we review the utilization promising improvement strategies for mung bean (Vigna radiata), which is among major in group. It an important legume species that widely cultivated consumed many parts world, particularly This crop known its high nutritional value, drought tolerance, short growth cycle, makes it suitable cultivation various agro-ecological zones. Despite importance, production often curtailed biotic abiotic factors significantly limit yield quality. In recent years, there has been increased research interest bean, areas genetic improvement, agronomy, post-harvest management. Advances genomic tools, molecular breeding, biotechnology have provided new opportunities developing improved varieties with desirable traits such as yield, disease resistance enhanced review, discuss developments findings on a focus agronomy. We highlight importance adapted to specific zones resistant stresses. Overall, relevant addressing challenges agricultural food security, context sustainable changing climate.
