ABSTRACT
This paper introduces a methodology for developing collapse fragility curves windstorms, with focus on assessing of electrical transmission towers hurricane events. Incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) that incorporates the entire duration is adopted modeling. Fragility are cumulative distribution functions structural limit state such as capacity, which designated in this work intensity measure associated onset collapse. A suite selected wind records used IDA to propagate uncertainties from speeds, directions, and durations capacities. Compared earthquake engineering methodologies, proposes appropriate approaches scaling records, fitting simulation data, parameter estimation curves. use both quantify uncertainty context performance-based design regional loss assessments. As inelastic deformations allowed design, it useful develop based nonlinear time history windstorm duration, has not been addressed prior work.
