Acceptability and outcomes of transdiagnostic guided self-help bibliotherapy for internalizing disorder symptoms in adults: Results of a fully remote nationwide open trial

ABSTRACT
Introduction: Doing What Matters in Times of Stress (DWM) is a five-module transdiagnostic guided self-help (GSH) intervention developed by the World Health Organization, originally group-based format. In sample individuals recruited from across United States, we conducted an open trial to study feasibility and acceptability adaptation DWM which guidance was provided individually remotely via phone videoconferencing. Methods: We assessed internalizing symptoms, psychological well-being, work social functioning, usability intervention, emotion regulation over course six weeks. Results: A total 263 completed our screening. Of those, 75.29% (n = 198) qualified for intervention. reached most participants who (71.21%, n 141) schedule GSH session. Most those scheduled attended session (84.4%, 119), more than half treatment (84.03%, 100). Retention rates were comparable meta-analytic estimates dropout GSH. Participants showed improvement on regulation. Conclusion: freely available, seemingly efficacious disorder symptoms.
