ABSTRACT
Multicultural representation is a stated goal of many global scientific assessment processes. These processes aim to mobilize broader, more diverse knowledge base and increase legitimacy inclusiveness these Often, enhancing cultural diversity encouraged through involvement expert teams sources in different languages. In this article, we examined linguistic diversity, as one the eight published assessments Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Our results show that IPBES outputs are disproportionately filtered English-language literature authors from Anglophone countries. To incorporate into ecosystem processes, present actionable steps for science recognize non-English-language contributions non-Anglophones. findings highlight need broad-scale actions enhance inclusivity knowledge-synthesis balanced holders sources.
