ABSTRACT
Accurate estimates of genetic parameters are important for improvement in Khari goats. In this regard, altogether 1005 adult does goat Deurali VDC, Nawalparasi were evaluated terms litter weight at birth (LWB) and weaning (LWW) their from February, 2012 to January 2015. Least square means (LSM) standard errors the mean (SEM) these traits determined with respect some non-genetic factors such as altitude, season conception, kidding, dam’s parity, size type. Accordingly, Overall LSM±SE LWB LWW present study 3.97±0.06 18.21±0.34 Kgs., respectively. Where, did not differed significantly altitude however, it was influenced (p<0.001) by Similarly, varied (p<0.01), conception (<0.001), kidding (<0.05), parity type (<0.001). Moderately high heritability (0.52±0.16) (0.56±0.17) indicated that under strong influence additive genes selection based superiority individual doe would be appropriate successful improvement. Highly significant positive (rA=0.95) phenotypic correlation (rP=0.91) between suggested any trait result considerable change other trait. More specifically, can used a guide select replacement targeting increased within herd. Journal Institute Agriculture Animal Science.Vol. 33-34, 2015, page: 251-258
