ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION
 Neonatal sepsis (sepsis neonatorum) is a clinical syndrome resulting from the pathophysiologic effects of local or systemic infection. This major cause morbidity and mortality around world affecting newborns up to one month age with symptoms positive blood cultures. study aimed at examining risk factors neonatal pediatric tertiary care hospital.
 
 MATERIAL AND METHODS
 was hospital based cross-sectional case control conducted among 350 neonates admitted within April September 2015 Kanti Children’s Hospital, Kathmandu Nepal. Cases were who had controls did not have their index mothers. CRP screening tests culture performed. Data entered using SPSS (Version 22). Bivariate multivariate logistic regression used determine sepsis.
 RESULTS
 A total 59 (17%) (cases) mothers’ 291 (83%) no (controls) mothers enrolled. Maternal that predicted occurrence parity (p<0.027), mode delivery (p<0.001) PROM (p<0.001). which duration stay in facility on admission (p<0.001).
 CONCLUSION
 The found both maternal strong association developing sepsis. Encouraging antenatal utilization would help identify during prenatal postnatal appropriate interventions implemented reduce likelihood neonate
