ABSTRACT
Two series of polyurethane (PU) networks based on Boltorn ® hyperbranched polyester (HBP) and hydroxyethoxy propyl terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane) (EO-PDMS) or hydroxy (HP-PDMS), were synthesized. The effect the type soft PDMS segment properties PUs was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), contact angle measurements, surface free energy determination, X-ray photoelectron (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force (AFM), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) differential calorimetry (DSC).The characterization showed existence slightly amphiphilic character it revealed that HP-PDMS have lower energy, more hydrophobic better waterproof performances than EO-PDMS.PUs had higher crosslinking density EO-PDMS.DSC DMTA results these newlysynthesized exhibit glass transition temperatures hard segments.DMTA, SEM AFM confirmed microphase separated morphology. The obtained in this work indicate PU HBP improved thermomechanical properties.
