ABSTRACT
Background: Achilles tendon ruptures may lead to proximal retraction of the stump if not treated acutely, increasing chances poorer functional outcomes. The flexor halluces longus transfer is a well-established treatment option, usually performed as an open procedure. The aim this paper report preliminary results and describe technique endoscopic transfer.Material methods: Six patients with chronic injuries or re-ruptures were FHL transfer. The Tendon Rupture Score was used clinically evaluate patients.Single leg heel rise ability, hallux weakness, complications procedure length also checked. Results: On average, we took 56 minutes perform surgery. All had major increase in ATRS score value postoperatively.Single possible for all without limitation.None noticed weakness during daily life activity no wound soft tissue seen. Conclusion: Endoscopic FLH reliable option high skin risk complications.Other studies are needed compare procedure, gold standard by now, ensure its safety efficacy.Level evidence: 4.
