ABSTRACT
Red-bed basins with rich hydrocarbon source rocks are widely distributed in south China, such as Banshi Basin southern Jiangxi, which may have very good prospects for oil and gas exploration. However, due to poor ground conditions, complex geological structures, seismic exploration conventional electromagnetic methods cannot provide useful information evaluation. This study uses the wide field (WFEM) method investigate distribution geoelectric characteristics of target stratum a red-bed basin Jiangxi province, China. The inversion results demonstrate that WFEM could quickly delineate favorable area determine location parametric well, confirming is an effective geophysical evaluating resources basins.
