ABSTRACT
Objective: This study aimed to assess the knowledge and awareness regarding cervical cancer its prevention among nurses working in different hospitals of Quetta, Pakistan. Methodology: The cross sectional, descriptive was conducted by using structured questionnaire Quetta from January September 2016. Convenient sampling technique applied targeting all city. Study developed tested for validity reliability. Descriptive inferential statistics (Mann Whitney U test Kruskal Wallis tests, p<0.05) were used significance variables performed IBM SPSS v.20. Results: Out 415 distributed questionnaires 324 returned (response rate 78%). mean Age respondents 28.18 ±9.5 years. Majority (n=127, 43.3%) participants interns had no or less than one year experience (n=128, 43.7%) with negative family history any (n=275, 93.9%). Mean score 18.52±4.84with majority (n=258, 88.1%) adequate cancer. Respondent sage, current area practice, qualification, Institute degree past contributing factors (p > 0.05) this study. results also reviled that not only 68.3% (n=200) 65.5% (n=192) knew is vaccine preventable availability it. Conclusions: Nurses city better understanding disease prevention. Yet many respondent are aware it availability.
