ABSTRACT
Background: This study aimed to illustrate the prevalence of CHD by screening children in extremely high-altitude areas (over 4000 m even 5000 above sea level) and explore an aid model for early diagnosis treatment Tibetan population. Methods: A total 2242 students from different schools Ngamring County, Xigaze city, Tibet September 2019 2020 were selected screening. The examined through inquiry their current medical history family history, cardiac auscultation a physical examination, order screen out suspected cases CHD, then confirmed color ultrasound examinations. After that, positive patients be transferred Shandong Province free treatment. Results: among County was 3.70% (83 cases), which is highest incidence rate ever reported. most common type patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), accounting 55.42% number screened, followed atrial septal defect (ASD) ventricular (VSD), 28.92% 12.05%, respectively. at high altitude significantly higher than that low altitude. with surgery, operations successful recoveries went well. Conclusions: results show closely related much previous reports.
