ABSTRACT
The associated MgO in limestone is believed to affect the volume stability of cementitious materials at room temperature, which limits utilization low-grade limestone. In this study, was used as an alkali activator instead partial CaO prepare aerated concrete under hydrothermal conditions. expansion process studied evaluate influence raw on gas forming slurry. pore structure (porosity, size and its distribution) analyzed by image method. physic-mechanical properties (density, strength, thermal properties) with addition were comprehensively investigated. Besides, mineral compositions morphology hydration products demonstrate mechanism mechanical properties. Experimental results show that final rate slurry decreases content. A reasonable content, i.e., MgO/(MgO + CaO) < 20%, contributes improve compressive attributing increased reaction C-S-H gel tobermorite. causes conductivity specific heat increase. mainly related amount air-entraining agent. This study has a significance for further magnesium-rich carbonates autoclaved building products.
