ABSTRACT
To evaluate prognostic factors affecting silicone tube intubation outcomes in Asian patients with lacrimal drainage system stenosis.A retrospective review was conducted on the medical records of 822 (1,118 eyes) who had undergone to treat stenosis between January 2011 and December 2012. Patients were divided into two groups: a success group failure group. Success defined as disappearance epiphora symptoms, normalization tear meniscus height, easy passage fluid without resistance postoperative syringing test. Patient ocular parameters compared groups.A total 994 eyes 727 included analyses. mean follow-up period 34.11 ± 18.70 weeks. Silicone successful 67.2% participants. Significant differences groups found for age (p < 0.001), history ipsilateral facial palsy = 0.028), degree preoperative test 0.001). Only 0.001) 0.002) remained significantly associated multivariate analysis.Age negatively stenosis. The rate higher showed These should be considered by surgeons planning
