ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to evaluate age-specific seroprevalence of pertussis in Korea and formulate a strategy prevent reduce the incidence pertussis. Residual serum samples healthy adolescents adults 11 yr age or older were collected between July 2012 December 2012, anti-pertussis toxin (PT) IgG titers measured using commercial ELISA kit. We compared mean anti-PT six groups: 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, ≥ 61 yr. A total 1,192 subjects enrolled. The titer 35.53 ± 62.91 EU/mL 41.4%, respectively. not significantly different groups. However, individuals 51 higher than younger (46.5% vs 39.1%, P = 0.017). Based on these results, new prevention is necessary for adults.
