ABSTRACT
We analyzed national data collected by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service in Korea from 2007 to 2011; 1) document procedural numbers rate of bipolar hemiarthroplasty (BH), primary revision total hip arthroplasties (THAs), 2) stratify prevalence each procedure age, gender, hospital type, quantified, 3) estimate burden evaluate whether is changed over time. Our final study population included 60,230 BHs, 40,760 THAs, 10,341 THAs. From 2011, both number THAs increased steadily, whereas there was no significant change Over 5 yr, BHs per 100,000 persons significantly 33.2% 21.4%, respectively. The consistent overall annual for THA decreased 22.1% 18.9% 2011. In contrast western data, were changes rates higher men than those women. Although yr a short time determine burden, have been decreases some age groups.
