ABSTRACT
Prevention of Postsurgical Scars: Comparsion Efficacy and Convenience between Silicone Gel Sheet Topical GelTo date, few studies have compared the effectiveness topical silicone gels versus that gel sheets in preventing scars.In this prospective study, we efficacy convenience use 2 products.We enrolled 30 patients who had undergone a surgical procedure weeks to 3 months before joining study.These participants were randomly assigned treatment arms: one for with sheet, other gel.Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) scores obtained all patients; addition, completed scoring patient questionnaires 1 after onset.Our results reveal not only no significant difference exists products but also are more convenient use.While previous advocated as first-line therapies postoperative scar management, maintain similar effects can be expected gel.The authors recommend that, when clinicians choice silicone-based prevention, they should focus on each patient's location, lifestyle, willingness undergo prevention treatment.
