ABSTRACT
Objective: Bronchogenic carcinoma can mimic or be masked by pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), and the aim of this study was to describe radiologic findings clinical significance bronchogenic TB which coexist in same lobe. Materials Methods:The 51 patients (48 males three females, aged 48-79 years) whom coexisted lobe were analyzed. The morphologic characteristics a tumor, such as its diameter margin, presence calcification cavitation, mediastinal lymphadenopathy, seen at CT, retrospectively assessed, stage lung cancer also determined.Using serial chest radiographs available for 21 patients, possible causes delay diagnosis analyzed. Results: Lung cancers with coexisting located predominantly upper lobes (82.4%).The mean mass 5.3 cm, most tumors (n=42, 82.4%) had lobulated border.Calcification within tumor 20 (39.2%), cavitation five (9.8%).Forty-two (82.4%) more than half (60.8%) an advanced [IIIB (n=11) IV (n=20)].The average diagnosing 11.7 (range, 1-24) months, failure observe new nodules stable lesions (n=8), misinterpretation aggravation (n=5), tuberculoma initial radiography (n=4), masking nodule active lesion (n=3), subtleness (n=1).
