ABSTRACT
Gene Delivery to the Rat Liver Using Cationic Lipid Emulsion/DNA Complex: Comparison between Intra-arterial, Intraportal and Intravenous AdministrationObjective: To compare efficiency of intra-arterial, intraportal, intravenous administration cationic lipid emulsion/DNA complex, as used for gene transfer rat liver.Materials Methods: DNA-carrier complex in-vivo experiment was prepared by mixing DNA a emulsion.According route (intra-arterial, or intravenous), animals were assigned one three groups. The heart, lung, liver, spleen kidneys removed assayed total protein luciferase concentration. Results:The successfully transfected various organs via different routes employed.Luciferase activity in each organ untreated negligible.Liver values significantly higher groups which intra-arterial intraportal used.
