Elucidation of Cucumber mosaic virus incidence on Chilli in Bhagalpur district of Bihar and its Biological characterization

ABSTRACT
Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the most important vegetable crops grown throughout globe. It prone to viral infections under field conditions. Among viruses; Cucumber mosaic virus severely affecting production and productivity Chilli. devastating plant pathogen infecting more than 1200 species across 100 families monocot dicot plants. In current investigation we have conducted survey for identification CMV. During in Bhagalpur district Bihar, were collected 95 chilli leaves samples showing characteristics symptom CMV, such as mild mosaic, mottling leaf distortion. DAC-ELISA was performed detection screening The observation that exhibited CMV symptoms from Sabour Kahalgaon block, accounting 25.71% 16.66% ELISA findings against antiserum, surprising. highest incidence recorded sabour block i.e. lowest 16.66%. After confirmation with DAC-ELISA, single lesion assay purification other contaminants. Identified strain biologically characterized by mechanically transmissible host plant. Seven days after inoculation, saw chlorotic local lesions on Chenopodium amaranticolar. comparable several research published different scientific groups
