Oral and dental care practices and attitude of pregnant women in lalitpur, Nepal

ABSTRACT
Hormonal changes during pregnancy accelerate estrogen and progesterone which is the main reason for periodontal diseases among pregnant women. Lack of oral hygiene maintenance decreased awareness routine professional dental checkup further complicate health problems pregnancy. Oral often neglected examination counseling compared to other components antenatal visit women in Nepal. Thus, aim present study identify practice attitude regarding Lalitpur district A descriptive cross-sectional was conducted from July 2019 February 2020 114 who attended out patients department at Lubhu Primary Health Care Center Imadol Post, Lalitpur, By using a structured questionnaire, an interview all participants inferential statistics used analyze data. The findings revealed that 68.4% had moderate level knowledge, 98.2% respondents positive 92.1% them insufficient there significant association between education status (p=0.001) with knowledge (p=0.005). However, no found selected socio-demographic variables maintaining i.e. age, gravida education. Pearsons' Correlation(r) be (r = 0.214, p=0.020). Although most this exhibit reasonable health, it not their practices. It necessary incorporate as integral component recommended visits.
