ABSTRACT
Background: The pathological mechanism of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is unknown. KOA degeneration may be associated with changes in muscle strength, proprioception, biomechanics, and postural stability. Objective: This study aimed to assess asymmetries stability bilateral lower limbs patients unilateral healthy controls analyze correlations between these parameters. Methods: A total 50 (age range: 50-70) subjects were recruited as participants 50-70). Muscle femorotibial angle (FTA), femoral condylar-tibial plateau (FCTP), average trajectory error (ATE), center pressure (COP) sways areas accessed participants, the correlation variables was investigated. Results: In KOA, limb strength significantly on symptomatic side than asymptomatic (p < 0.01), while proprioception (degree error), FTA, FCTP, ATE substantially higher compared 0.01). However, no significant difference observed > 0.05). Patients had 0.05), but their error: target reproduction angles), ATE, COP sway found negatively correlated whereas error) positively 0.05) all participants. Conclusion: are asymmetrical patients. variables, should considered prevention rehabilitation.
