ABSTRACT
As a treatment option for people living with diabetes, automated insulin delivery (AID) systems are becoming increasingly popular. The #WeAreNotWaiting community plays crucial role in the provision and distribution of open-source AID technology. However, while large percentage children were early adopters AID, there regional differences adoption, which has prompted an investigation into barriers perceived by caregivers diabetes to creating systems.This is retrospective, cross-sectional multinational study conducted adolescents distributed across online peer-support groups. Participants-specifically not using AID-responded web-based questionnaire concerning their building maintaining system.56 who at time data collection responded questionnaire. Respondents indicated that major system limited technical skills (50%), lack support medical professionals (39%), therefore concern being able maintain (43%). relating confidence technologies/unapproved products fear digital technology taking control as significant enough prevent non-users from initiating use system.The results this elucidate some uptake experienced diabetes. Reducing these may improve With continuous development wider dissemination educational resources guidance-for both aspiring users healthcare professionals-the adoption could be improved.
