ABSTRACT
This study is designed to generalize and depict the research hotspots of endophthalmitis through bibliometric methods software analyze evolutive tendency work on this severe disease over past 30 years. employed a rigorous approach. We identified all endophthalmitis-related literature by conducting comprehensive search Science Citation Index Expanded database under Web Core Collection. The data was then analyzed visualized using CiteSpace VOSviewer, two widely recognized tools in field bibliometrics. used country distributions, dual map overlay journals, keyword bursts, co-cited references. VOSviewer describe authors authors, keywords co-occurrence network. robust methodology ensures reliability validity study's findings. A total 2960 publications, including 2695 articles 265 reviews, were included study. There has been no shortage publications since 1993, with an apparent upward trend during recent Possible correlations COVID-19 pandemic are also analyzed. These studies finished 11,048 from 75 countries worldwide, United States lead. In network, except for term, cataract surgery becomes highest frequency. Different categories endophthalmitis, postoperative, post-injection, post-traumatic, endogenous antibacterial anti-inflammatory therapies infectious discussed categories. From perspective timeline, postoperative post-injection dominant forms before after year 2000, respectively. Co-citation analyses reveal that Endophthalmitis Vitrectomy Study (EVS) conducted 1995 provides pivotal guidance later research. Diverse pathogenic bacteria (e.g., Coagulase-negative Staphylococci, Propionibacterium acnes, Viridians Streptococci, Bacillus cereus) or fungi Candida, Aspergillus, Fusarium) contribute varying treatment principles clinical prognosis, which should be taken seriously. addition, intravitreal intracameral antibiotics mainstay treating preventing Our analysis overview dynamic evolution structural relationships endophthalmitis. displayed developmental directions have reference values future investigation.
