ABSTRACT
Determining risk factors of cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related mortality and evaluating their influence are important for effectively reducing corresponding mortality. However, few research findings have estimated the relationship between atrial fibrillation (AF) CVD-related among hypertension individuals. The objective this study was to investigate epidemiology AF in a population determine Using multistage, stratified, cluster random sampling method, prospective cohort with median follow-up 3.51 years enrolled 10,678 hypertensive participants at baseline. prevalence, awareness, anticoagulation data focal were carefully assessed. Stepwise logistic regression Cox analysis respectively performed evaluate determinants association overall prevalence 1.3% (95% CI, 1.1%-1.6%) population, it higher men than women (1.8% vs. 1.0%, respectively; p=0.001). awareness 53.1%, rate oral anticoagulant (OAC) therapy only 4.2%, although all should required according European Society Cardiology guidelines. included elder, male, history coronary heart population. Besides, compared individuals without AF, significantly increased (HR 3.37, 95% CI 2.10-5.40). Our results indicated huge burden underuse OAC them community-based Considering that most unmodifiable individuals, as well its high mortality, long-term interventions including education, timely screening, widespread use OACs be emphasized populations.
