ABSTRACT
Cardiorespiratory function influences exercise capacity and is an important determinant of high-altitude adaptation. Some studies have investigated the characteristics changes in cardiorespiratory fitness during acclimatization. However, on de-acclimatization are still lacking not yet been elucidated. Furthermore, few drugs studied to improve both processes. The Shigatse CARdiorespiratory Fitness (SCARF) study a single-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-control clinical trial explore effects ubiquinol acclimatization healthy adults. Participants will be randomly assigned 1:1 200 mg daily or placebo for 14 days before departure until end data collection after return 7 days. primary outcome, while acute mountain sickness symptoms secondary endpoints. In addition, laboratory measurements, including routine blood tests serological performed. To best our knowledge, SCARF first reveal de-acclimatization. results this contribute exploring whether supplementation could beneficial endurance at different altitudes help adaptation hypoxia Clinical Trial Registration: This has registered Chinese Register (www.chictr.org.cn) as ChiCTR2200059900 ChiCTR2200066328.
