ABSTRACT
Purpose Evaluate Piccolo and ADOII devices for transcatheter patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) closure. has smaller retention discs reducing risk of flow disturbance but residual leak embolization may increase. Methods Retrospective review all patients undergoing PDA closure with an Amplatzer device between January 2008 April 2022 in our institution. Data from the procedure 6 months follow-up were collected. Results 762 patients, median age 2.6 years (range 0–46.7) weight 13 kg 3.5–92) referred Overall, 758 (99.5%) had successful implantation: 296 (38.8%) ADOII, 418 (54.8%) Piccolo, 44 (5.8%) AVPII. The than (15.8 vs. 20.5 kg, p < 0.001) larger diameters (2.3 1.9 mm, 0.001). Mean diameter was similar both groups. Closure rate at 295/296 (99.6%), 417/418 (99.7%), AVPII 44/44 (100%). Four intraprocedural embolizations occurred during study time period: two Piccolo. Following retrieval closed cases, ADOI one case surgery fourth case. Mild stenosis left pulmonary artery (LPA) three (1%) patient (0.2%). Severe LPA (0.3%) (2.2%). Conclusions are safe effective a tendency to less There no cases aortic coarctation related this study.
