Coal Supply Sustainability in China: A New Comprehensive Evaluation Methodology

Coal is a major source of energy in China. Quantifying China’s coal supply sustainability essential to track efforts towards sustainable development and achieve carbon neutrality goals. In this research, addition availability, economic sustainability, environmental technological we specially considered health security, transport supply. We select 19 indicators from the above six dimensions build index construct novel optimized comprehensive evaluation model with level difference maximization evaluate sustainability. The results showed that policies issued by Chinese government have effectively improved has significantly, figure nearly doubling 0.338 2000 0.7004 2019. To improve further fundamentally, it still necessary diversification. Since phasing out reliance requires considerable time, needs introduce more positive effective such as increase research support for capture, utilization storage technology, etc. presented paper will reference value both promoting China other coal-consuming countries world.
