ABSTRACT
Ciborinia camelliae is the causal agent of camellia flower blight (CFB). It a hemibiotrophic pathogen, inoperculate Discomycete family Sclerotiniaceae. shows host and organ specificity infecting only flowers species belonging to genus Camellia, causing serious damage ornamental component plant. In this work, first mitochondrial genome reported. The mitogenome was obtained by combining Illumina short read Nanopore long technology. To resolve repetitive elements, specific primers were designed used for Sanger sequencing. manually curated DNA (mtDNA) Italian strain DSM 112729 circular sequence 114,660 bp, with 29.6% GC content. contains two ribosomal RNA genes, 33 transfer RNAs, one RNase P gene, 62 protein-coding genes. latter include gene coding protein (rps3) 14 typical proteins involved in oxidative metabolism. Moreover, partial mtDNA assembled from contig list deposited assembly New Zealand C. camelliae. present study contributes understanding arrangement evolution phytopathogenic fungus comparison other Sclerotiniaceae confirms usefulness analysis define phylogenetic positioning newly sequenced species.
